I thought I’d get a lot of things posted…and believe me I did have a lot to talk about and share, but this darn heat is really frustrating. Now, I know for most people…a continuous wave of temperature in the mid to high 20s (degrees – Celsius) is no bother; but for me (happy to reside in the mid teens!) it’s like it’ll never end! And the heat is making me forget everything! I wanted to post so much…especially the ‘divine intervention’ that I’d mentioned previously; but I’m far too lazy. In fact I’m so lazy that I’ve not even budged on the 15000 word thesis I need to have bound and ready to hand in for 18th August! I’m not even close to starting the thing properly let alone completion!
I know that all I’ve done so far is complain, and I’m not going to argue with anyone who thinks I’m a whiner…I am. But I really want to mention the going ons in Gaza…(close eyes and take a breath)…it’s hard to imagine a single soul who doesn’t feel hurt by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Children are being KILLED, innocents are losing lives; and it’s almost like a game to those who are killing them…like some sort of COD game…where the most kills gets a trophy. You are not proving anything but the fact that you’ve lost all sense of humanity, and shame on everyone of the so called ‘super-powers’ who not only stand by and turn a blind eye, but pledge ‘staunch’ support to Israel in their on-going (you know who you are). It is a massive let down for all of mankind to allow such a catastrophe to occur, and worse…to give support to those who are causing it! I know that one mere soul like myself adding to the voices who are screaming for someone to turn around and do something isn’t actually going to miraculously change events…but if we can be united and join hands and force those ‘super-powers’ to turn around and look…maybe, just maybe we can give hope to those in Gaza. Because right now, it must all feel like a nightmare that will never end…and I won’t even pretend to empathise…because I simply cannot…and I hope that no one should go through anything like that. Ever.
But we really can make an impact…we can make are voices heard (even if the screams of those in Gaza are not). We can make them listen to us, but we need to present a united front…if we boycott Israeli products, we can send the message that we will not support nor tolerate what our respective governments are doing; and that they must change their ways and intervene in support of Gaza! Boycott is a peaceful way for us to end this apartheid imposed by Israel and to end this ‘ethnic cleansing’ genocide.
Boycott can make a difference. We can make a difference.
